Static Privacy Policy

Summary of this policy:

Please read each section below for detailed information on how data and services are incorporated into the application.

Accounts

User accounts are not necessary to use the application. No email, username, or password combinations are required.

Personal Information

The application does not utilize or capture personally identifiable information (PII). Users cannot be individually identified, contacted, or located with data captured by the application.

Analytics

The application captures anonymous analytics for the purpose of identifying popular functions and features. Analytics are sent to a self-hosted, open-source analytics platform, and are not shared with any third parties.

Discovery and Control Features

The application uses local networking services to discover other instances. Specifically, multicast DNS (also known as Bonjour) is used to discover other instances of the application on the same local network. These instances can be controlled through the application by way of a custom communication protocol built on top of HTTP.

In-App Purchases

When a user chooses to unlock premium features of the application, they may be prompted by the operating system to provide store credentials for completing a purchase or restoring a previous purchase. These credentials are not made available to the application.

The host operating system may provide the application with information about when the application was originally downloaded or purchased. In some cases, the application may need to verify this data for authenticity before unlocking premium features. This verification may be accomplished with a remote server, or by contacting a service provided by the store vendor. The application will only transmit data provided by the host operating system for the purposes of purchase validation to a remote service.

Logging

The application may capture diagnostic logs in order to facilitate troubleshooting when users report problems with the application. The logs may be sent in an email initiated by the user when requesting support. The logs may be inspected by the user or removed prior to sending a request for support.

Crash Reporting

The application may capture crash reports in the event the application terminates unexpectedly. These reports do not contain any PII.

Privacy Policy Changes

This Privacy Policy may change from time to time, so users are encouraged to check this page periodically for any changes, since they cannot be notified directly. Continued use of the application after any change to this Privacy Policy will constitute acceptance of such changes.
